This post is going to be a bit different. The topic is only tangentially related to my usual content, but it's something I've become passionate about over the past few years: health - especially as it relates to someone with a sedentary lifestyle, such as writing software and playing video games.

Over the next few posts, I'll share some notes and tips that might help anyone struggling to stay active or maintain their health.

Disclaimer: Before I dive in, it's essential to understand that there are no guarantees with anything I'll discuss. Life can be unpredictable - someone living an unhealthy lifestyle can reach old age, while another who meticulously takes care of themselves may pass away young. It's about doing your best, reducing risks, and living your life fully because tomorrow isn't guaranteed!

This first post will focus on my health background and how I got to today.

My Story

As most readers probably know, I make a living writing software and enjoy video games. This means I spend weekdays from morning until around 4:30 or 5 PM sitting at a desk typing. Once home, I have family time with my kids and wife, but we usually end our evenings in front of the TV. My personal downtime involves gaming - also sedentary. Before marriage and kids, it was even worse due to fewer responsibilities. Clearly, this lifestyle isn't particularly healthy.
