In My Collection is a new series I’m trying out. This one is for paid subscribers only, so make sure to subscribe! I am a physical media guy and an advocate of game preservation so I thought it would be neat to take some pictures and talk about the physical media, try to remember how much I paid for it and where I obtained it, the current value of the item and so on and so forth. I know it will be a fun time for me going back through these things and hopefully fun for you reading!

Man, I’m really getting some mileage out of this game list I’m going through, aren’t I? 😄
So, I’m actually just now realizing that I never ended up buying the original Nintendo 64 cartridge of this game. I will need to rectify that. When I played this back several years ago, I already owned the Nintendo 3DS copy. Plus, I love retro games, but the original Ocarina of Time’s graphics aren’t necessarily wonderful and so the 3DS spit shine was definitely preferable. So, let’s talk about what I remember about obtaining this cartridge and talk about the media itself, shall we?
It’s been a long time (this game released in 2011), but I think I got this as a Christmas gift from someone. Or heck, I might have gotten it for my wife for her birthday or Christmas. She loves Zelda games. So, I either paid $0 for this if it was a gift for me or the retail price if I purchased it for my wife which I’m guessing was somewhere between $50 to $60. If anyone remembers how much 3DS games cost back then, shoot me a DM or make a comment below. Based on the current price, I think I got hosed and should have waited for this to drop in price. But that’s okay, I’m glad it’s super cheap because you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Let’s start by looking at the box:
