I bought The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild a few years after its original release in 2017. By then, the idea of embarking on a massive gaming journey with my friend had already been percolating. This game felt like a turning point for Zelda, drastically changing the formula and pushing the franchise in a bold new direction. For most players, it was a resounding success, earning widespread acclaim as "the best Zelda ever made."
It took me several hours to fully immerse myself in the experience, but once I accepted the realities of breakable weapons and the frustrating inability to climb cliffs during rain, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the game.
