The MiSTer FPGA(Part 1)

What is that?

If you are a video game fan, you may have heard about this “new” emulation technology dubbed FPGA. Without doing any research you may just assume it is another way to emulate your old video games. And while that is true, it is now in my opinion the best way to emulate your retro video games. And, as time goes on, it’s only going to get better. In this post I will talk about what FPGA is as well as what the MiSTer project is and how it got started. In the second part, I will outline exactly what is needed and complete instructions for how I built out my MiSTer FPGA board(with pictures!).
