The Origins of is a series of posts in which I do as much research as an amateur writer can do and subsequently write about the origins of a video game.
Shortly after the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, work began on the next The Legend of Zelda entry. Twilight Princess had been a hit, both critically and commercially. The game well received enough to make it one of the best-selling Wii titles ever. The GameCube release also contributed to a small number of sales as well. In all, the title sold almost 10 million copies. However, there are always lessons to be learned and things that are considered in retrospect. Nintendo EAD - developer of Twilight Princess and the team also tasked with creating the new Zelda game on the Wii console - got to work on the first ever exclusive Wii Zelda game.
