This is a rushed post because I got my Switch 2 on Thursday but I was out of town. Even still, I wanted to share the unboxing for those of you who may not have gotten one and provide some thoughts along the way. Letsa gooooo!
Here’s the box. I got the Mario Kart bundle which was a bit more expensive but I think in the long run it’s a better deal due to the individual price of Mario Kart World.
Looking at the contents of the box, the first things we see are of course the console itself and the joy-cons. They are wrapped in some protective plastic wrap
Beneath that is the joy-con straps, a heath and safety sheet, a HDMI cable and my download code for Mario Kart World. I love the blue and orange colors they used for the joy-cons.
At the bottom of the box is the dock, the joy-con holder thingy and the charging cable and brick.
I also purchased a Pro Controller. Here’s the box
The Pro Controller feels great. It has a smooth plastic finish and the weight feels like a quality product and not like something that would break just by touching it.
I also got the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera. Here’s the box
I haven’t had a chance to use this yet and I suspect it will not get used much at all except maybe by my children.
Here’s the console outside of the packaging with the Joy Cons attached.
Here’s the console in the dock.
I had to transfer my data from my OLED Switch to the Switch 2. It was pretty painless and didn’t take much time at all.
There was a day 1 update. I believe this update actually allows the Switch 2 to be used. Something Nintendo did to prevent early access to the system.
Here are some other screens including the main user interface.
The unboxing experience was fun and painless. I didn’t have trouble with anything. The console and peripherals themselves feel sturdy and high quality. The interface hasn’t changed much, so those coming over from the Switch 1 will feel right at home. I haven’t had a chance to really use the system yet or play Mario Kart World, so I may have another post later on with my thoughts on that. Right now I have no complaints.
Let me know if you have any questions!
How many physical games from your Switch backlog will you be playing on the NS2?
