Great write up. I played Chrono for the first time about five years ago (super Famicom version fan translated) and loved it. One of my all time favourites
It is a great game. I emulated it decades ago. Didn't manage to finish it, though.
What I dislike about Toriyama's character design is that it seems repetitive. Chrono looks like Goku, the cavewoman resembles the woman with two personalities. There's obviously at least one Bulma :D Magus also reminds me of someone.
I had a similar problem when playing the Dragon Quest XI demo. I mean, I'd love to play the game. If it wasn't for the corny main theme and the fact that you play as Android 19.
Ahh yeah I understand. Toriyamas art style is very distinct and doesn't change much. It's very easy to draw comparisons across all the media he's done.

Awesome! It is a brilliant game.
I need to come back to this game and finally finish it.
Never liked the Akira Toriyama character design.
That's interesting. What do you not like about the artwork? I still think even if you don't like the artwork, it's a great game

I will still play them, anyway :D
